Veer Savarkar was an Indian politician, lawyer, writer, and social reformer. He was credited with playing a pivotal role in the Indian independence movement. He was also the founder of the Hindu Mahasabha, a political party. Also, he advocated for the rights of Hindus.Savarkar was born in 1883 in Nashik, Maharashtra to a family of Brahmans. 

His father died when he was just two years old and his mother raised him on her own. Savarkar was a bright student and excelled in his studies. He graduated from Fergusson College in Pune with a degree in Law. After graduation, Savarkar moved to London to study for the Bar exam. 

While in London, he became involved in the Indian independence movement. He also met and befriended several prominent figures in the movement, including Vinayak Damodar Savarkar (no relation), who would later go on to lead the Hindu Mahasabha. When Savarkar returned to India, he began working as a lawyer. He also became active in politics and worked to promote Hindu nationalism. In 1909, he founded the Hindu Mahasabha, a political party that advocated for the rights of Hindus. 

The party quickly gained popularity and began to challenge the dominance of the Indian National Congress. Savarkar arrested by the British government in 1910 for his involvement in the Indian independence movement.
