Real reason Raiders signed Jimmy Garoppolo revealed

This past season marked the end of the Derek Carr era for the Las Vegas Raiders.

Carr was first selected by the Raiders in 2014.

One news source claims, however, that the Raiders were already looking forward to Carr's replacement as quarterback before he was formally released.

On Tuesday, Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer claimed that the Raiders fired Carr and signed Jimmy Garoppolo because he was a "better cultural fit."

He stated that the Raiders knew Carr was gone by "midseason."

Breeer stated that the Raiders didn't perceive Carr as a cultural fit after a year.

Breer did not specify how Garoppolo would be a better match with the team's culture. Nonetheless, it seems to be something that the Raiders hold to be true.
